Upgrading jib cranes at aship repair yard in Nigeria
- Published in News
Another stage of the ship repair yard upgrade in Lagos finished in June 2015. The team of FUD specialists is back in Poland. The upgrade covered three shipyard jib cranes and one crane in the floating dock.
The upgrade lasted a few months and was carried out in stages by our experts without interrupting the day to day operations of the ship repair yard. The jib cranes were fitted with new components and modern control systems which had a very positive influence on the quality of work of the equipment, and as a result, on the efficiency of the whole ship repair yard.
"The project was perfectly carried out in terms of logistics and engineering. The production in the shipyard continued the whole time. Complete disassembling of the cranes was out of the question. We had to adapt to the work rhythm of the shipyard. This was possible thanks to the considerable experience of the team working in Nigeria and their commitment. To be able execute such an upgrade, one requires special permits and licenses which FUD has" - explained Waldemar Zabłocki, FUD S.A. Production Director.
